The Rho Chi Honor Society at the Campbell’s College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences welcomed 27 new student members during the annual ceremony held March 15 in Maddox Hall.
“Being a member of Rho Chi is a great honor. It is rewarding to be recognized for academic achievement,” said Jenna Grago, 2019 PharmD/MSPS candidate and president of the Gamma Iota Chapter of Rho Chi. “I hope our chapter can continue to grow and perhaps do more in the coming years to encourage and promote leaders in pharmacy.”
Associate Professor of Clinical Research Charles Carter served as keynote speaker for the evening, encouraging students to embrace humility and to lead purposeful lives of meaningful service.
“Students, as your academic journey progresses and eventually closes, all of you have the opportunity to be great ambassadors of this College and an opportunity to share your academic gifts and hard work,” said Carter. “In the coming weeks, months and indeed years, I would ask that you embrace your curiosity to find and do more, to learn about new things and to recognize those ah-ha moments when you have them. Study your path as you go.”
Rho Chi seeks to encourage and recognize intellectual achievement, stimulate critical inquiry to advance pharmacy, contribute to the development of intellectual leaders, promote high ethical standards and foster collaboration. The Gamma Iota Chapter of Rho Chi was established at Campbell on April 15, 1994. Over the last nine years, 220 students have been inducted into the chapter.
