Rhymes With Orange Recap: Season 1

Campbell University’s Office of Communications & Marketing kicked off the fall semester with its new podcast, Rhymes With Orange. Focused on telling the extraordinary stories of ordinary people at Campbell, the podcast featured guests ranging from professors and staff to students and alumni.

The co-hosts, Billy Liggett and Leah Jarvis, saw a need for a new way of storytelling on campus and took off with the idea of a podcast with the help of Brian Bowman, instructor for Communications Studies, and the College of Arts & Sciences’ broadcasting studio.

“When I looked at the friendships and working relationships I have on campus, I noticed that we all share the Campbell experience, but the way we got to Buies Creek was dramatically different,” said Jarvis (’14 MBA), a staff writer for the University’s digital presence and Campbell Magazine. “If I found their stories interesting, I thought the campus would enjoy them, too.”

Rhymes With Orange’s first season welcomed 12 guests and ranged from topics like tattoos and marching bands to maritime history and Santa Claus.
