Sarah Steele named associate dean of library

BUIES CREEK, North Carolina – Campbell University Libraries announced the promotion of Sarah Steele to associate dean of the library, effective Oct. 1.

“Since her arrival at Campbell, Sarah has worked tirelessly to improve the library’s reference and instructional services,” said Borrée Kwok, assistant provost for administration and dean of Campbell University Libraries. “We are so pleased that Sarah has accepted this position. Her leadership experience, dedication, and assiduity uniquely qualify her for the new role.”

Steele joined Campbell in 2008 as a curriculum materials/media librarian. In 2011, she became head of Research and Instructional Services, where she continued to serve as an instructional librarian and advocate for student success through library resources. In 2014, she was awarded the Dean’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

“It is with humility that I accept this new position,” said Steele. “I am grateful for the trust the university has placed in me and look forward to continuing my service to Wiggins Library in this new capacity.”

Steele earned a Bachelor of Art from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Master of Library Science (School Library) from East Carolina University, and Master of Library Science (Academic Library) at North Carolina Central University. She is also currently earning a Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Campbell University.
