Art majors and non art majors participate in this mixed media Studio Art exhibit at Campbell University’s E.P. Sauls Gallery. The exhibit, which will be on display until Feb. 15, is free and open to the public. Larkin Tysor, associate professor of art, said the exhibit is an eclectic blend of pencil and acrylics and represents numerous artistic styles. “There’s something of interest to everyone,” said Tysor. “This exhibition is both interesting and inspiring for the entire Buies Creek and larger community.” The exhibit includes works by both the novice and the more advanced student, but the work is limited to students who are or were enrolled in Art Department classes, Tysor said. The students whose works are on display have been enrolled in Studio Art classes on color, which is an exploration of color theory and art history; Design I, a foundational course for drawing and graphic design; and painting, Tysor said. “All types of styles are represented from the finished and matted pieces like “Spring 2007,” a still life acrylic painting of oranges and a camellia by Sarah Beasley, to Dianna Lee’s “Untitled,” an extreme close-up in pencil of a girl with a tattoo.” The E.P. Sauls Gallery is located in the Rogers Fine Art Center on the Campbell campus. The Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:30-5 p.m.Photo Copy: A still life of oranges and a camellia is part of the Student Art Exhibit now on display at the E.P.
