Second annual Operation Inasmuch at Campbell University

Note: Registration for Operation Inasmuch 2009 has closed.

Campbell University is hosting Operation Inasmuch on April 4, 2009. Operation Inasmuch is a day in which participants go into the community and serve others through various service and ministry projects.

“We began Operation Inasmuch last year and have made it an annual event because it embodies the things we hold in high priority as a University: the call as Christians to express our love of God and commitment to the Great Commission by loving God’s people, the mission of the University to prepare students for Christian service and incorporate service into their learning experience and the chance to build meaningful relationships between Campbell and the local community,” said Faithe Beam, campus minister.

The ministry is based on Matthew 25 in which Jesus said, “Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you did it to me.”

“We encourage students, faculty and staff to be involved in Operation Inasmuch because it provides a chance for the Campbell community to grow closer to each other through serving together and to grow closer to the people and organizations in our Harnett County community by reaching outside of ourselves,” said Kelly Rhodes, intern of the Office of Campus Minister. “Everyone involved in Operation Inasmuch benefits in some way, whether it’s the nursing home patient who has a visitor for the first time in a month, the student who gains the fulfillment of helping others or forming a new friendship, or the faculty/staff member who gets to experience first-hand the joys of working with our students and other staff members outside of the classroom context.”

Participants will meet at 8:00 a.m. at the Academic Circle in front of D.Rich, pray and head out to work on their projects until 4:00 p.m. Lunch will be delivered. There was a record of 346 participants last year and this year the goal is 500 or more participant’s campus-wide.
