Senior Art Exhibit at Campbell University

Buies Creek, N.C.–Campbell is hosting a student art exhibit, Nov. 6 through Dec. 15, in the E.P. Sauls Art Gallery in the Rogers Fine Arts Center. The exhibit includes works from four students. Although each student has a different perspective of what art is, their passion shines through their work.Donald Strother said he started drawing at age 4.“I would try to duplicate images of my favorite cartoon characters and superheroes,” he said. “I drew whatever I saw.”Strother wants to work in gaming, animation, comic book or web design when he graduates.Jose Juan Melendez-Doens became interested in art because of his mother.“I grew up drawing comic book heroes,” he said. “Then, mom introduced me to Van Gogh and Dali.”Kasey Parker loved drawing and was always chosen to display her art in school.“I am very into the Japanese culture as you can see in my exhibit, but I also took ideas from my recent road trip to California,” she said.David Springsteed’s work includes sketches and paintings.“I want to work for the Corporate Marketing Studio and maintain the company’s website,” he said.Photo Copy: Kasey Parker got the idea for this painting from a road trip.
