Seniors represent Campbell at Pi Gamma Mu convention

Two Campbell University seniors and a faculty advisor were in attendance for the Pi Gamma Mu International Convention on Oct. 20 in Washington, D.C.

History major Lydia Adkins and English and history major Josh Pittman (pictured) joined Dr. Lloyd Johnson for the trip to represent Campbell’s chapter of the international honor society in the social sciences. The society recognizes juniors and seniors who are majoring in criminal justice, history, political science, economics, social work and psychology. More than 500 Campbell alumni are members.

Pittman was one of 42 students in the U.S. who presented academic research papers in the Kennedy Caucus Room in the Russell Senate Office Building of the U.S. Capitol. Pittman’s paper traces the history of Turkins-Israeli relations to understand the recent changes in congeniality between the two countries.
