Seventh annual Campbell Law Career Night set for Nov. 8

RALEIGH — Campbell Law School’s Career & Professional Development Center will host its seventh-annual Career Night beginning at 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 8, at the CAM Raleigh, 409 W. Martin St.

It’s the first time the event is being held off campus, said Campbell Law Career Center & Professional Development Assistant Dean Kala Taylor.

“We’re hopeful by hosting our annual Career Night at the CAM Raleigh, we can make the experience even more interesting for participating employers as well as students,” she explained. “It promises to be a lively evening of conversation and skill building.”

In the past more than 25 employers in a variety of practice areas and industries have been represented by about 50 attorneys at the event that allows students to explore traditional areas of legal practice.

Employers interested in participating in the event should  RSVP by Nov. 1.

Students interested in attending this opportunity to meet diverse members of our legal community and learn about what they do must RSVP in Simplicity by Nov. 1.

David Yoon, senior manager, legal counsel at SAS Institute, will be the night’s keynote speaker. Yoon, who is a 2006 Campbell Law graduate, will provide genuine, practical advice, including the importance of networking.

Taylor said, “Our students look forward to Career Night every year because it’s extremely informative and allows them to network and market themselves.”

Practicing professionals on-site for the event will represent a broad assortment of legal sectors, including corporate, criminal, environmental, family law, government, health law, immigration, intellectual property, labor and employment, defense and plaintiff litigation, real estate and academia.

“We are appreciative of and thankful for the many alumni and legal professionals in our community that chose to spend part of their evening with our students,” Taylor added.
