Shaw and Giles featured in senior exhibit

Campbell University seniors Alejandra Shaw and Mike Giles are exhibiting their work in the E.P. Sauls Gallery of the Rogers Fine Arts Center through May 15,

Alejandra Shaw, a native of Chile, is majoring in both Graphic Design and Studio Art. Mike Giles, of Bowie, Md., is also a Graphic Design and Studio Art major.

Works by the two students include paintings, drawings, sculpture and ceramics. The work is a compilation of four years of Studio Art projects. Some items are for sale.

Explaining his approach to art, Giles said, “I have always wrestled with the knowledge that I cannot understand everything, which starkly contrasts with having chosen a career at whose core is a search for an abstract standard of beauty, communication and creation. I prefer definitive answers. In art, such solidity is rare at best.”

The E.P. Sauls Gallery is open from 8:00 a.m. until 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
