Sports Medicine Director Participates in Olympic Training

Dr. Andrew Martin, Director of Sports Medicine at Campbell University and Head Team Physician, recently returned from the United States Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, CO where he assisted in providing care to members of the USA Olympic Team.
Dr. Martin took care of athletes in various sports including swimming, wrestling, gymnastics, track and field, judo, weight lifting, shooting, pentathlon, and cycling.  This experience enables Dr. Martin to be eligible for future participation as a physician for National Governing Body events.  He hopes these opportunities will happen regularly, so they can be incorporated into the Sports Medicine Fellowship here at Campbell giving Campbell Fellows the opportunity to learn and experience medical coverage at the Olympic level.
“It was an amazing opportunity to work with some of the top athletes in the world,” said Martin.  “I look forward to sharing my experiences at Campbell to improve the health and performance of our University Athletes and advancing the training of our students.”
