The Campbell Business Spotlight highlights students who go above and beyond with involvement in extracurricular activities and opportunities.

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Sarah Roberson may be months away from graduating from Campbell Business with a double major in Business Administration and Health Care Management, but she’s been running a successful enterprise for some time.

Roberson’s thriving craft business, The Redhead Camel, was formed in late June 2013 as an artistic venture in creativity and capitalism. Today she’s surpassed more than 850 sales via her online Etsy storefront, racking up over 200 glowing reviews culminating in a five star rating.

“The Redheaded Camel strives to spread hand painted happiness,” said Roberson. “Through canvas, apparel, prints and home decor, my hope is to inspire and uplift those who receive our products and add a little happy to everyday. I am humbled to get to be a small part of so many special occasions.”

Customers have snatched up Roberson’s work for a wide array of uses, including wedding décor and custom graduation caps. Her commissions add a special touch to monumental occasions and play a role in memories that last a lifetime.

The Redheaded Camel has also perfectly positioned Roberson to utilize and take advantage of what she’s learning day in and day out at Campbell Business.

“I have been able to implement classroom lessons directly into my business, which is really unique. From accounting to economics, I can take something that is theoretical and very textbook focused, and put it to work in The Redheaded Camel almost immediately. I’ve had my own little independent study over the past three years.”

Roberson entered undergrad with an inherent interest in business because of the potential job opportunities after graduation. Fortunately for her, her degree curriculum and elective options have enabled her to learn about the business industry and herself, empowering her to thrive with her own small business.

On top of learning to grow and operate her own successful venture, Roberson has enjoyed the opportunity to mentor freshmen and transfer students at Campbell Business through the BADM100 course. She encourages others to think positively and chase their dreams.

“I am a huge believer that we only have to be one step ahead to help someone else, and I encourage anyone who is dreaming of something big to ask for help from the people they look up to.”

Whether or not she’s aware of it, Roberson has become someone others can look up to.
