State representatives to highlight discussion on abortion

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Campbell Law Federalist Society and Women in Law student organizations will welcome two state representatives for “On Privacy & Safety: A Discussion on Abortion in North Carolina,” at noon on Wednesday, Oct. 23 at the law school. North Carolina Speaker Pro Tempore Paul “Skip” Stam (Rep.) and Representative Rick Glazier (Dem.), who also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the law school, will participate in the event.

Members of the local community are welcome to join Campbell Law students, faculty, staff, and alumni for the discussion. Paid parking is available at the City of Raleigh Municipal Parking Deck across from the law school on West Morgan Street.

Both state representatives will discuss N.C. Senate Bill 353 / S.L. 2013-366, which passed over the summer, including its purpose, impact throughout the state, and its Constitutional implications.

“Campbell Law School is the perfect environment to host such meaningful discussions on issues of this magnitude,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard. “We welcome the participation of Representative Stam and Representative Glazier, and we look forward to a healthy and robust conversation on the legal implications at hand.”
