In the midst of a hectic spring sports schedule, student-athletes from the Campbell baseball and softball programs were unable to graduate with their peers Saturday at Barker-Lane Stadium for main campus commencement.
So standing in front of their teammates, families and coaches on Monday at Butler Chapel, 13 student-athletes earned degrees from Campbell University.
“We are delighted to celebrate your thriving success as a student and as an athlete,” said Dr. Mark Hammond.
In total, 10 members of the Campbell Baseball program and three players from the Campbell Softball team were honored inside Butler Chapel, one day after both teams earned Big South Conference Championships.
The student-athletes sported special graduation sashes reading, “Student Athlete” signifying the commitment to success both on and off the field.
“We are proud of your achievements on the field, and even more proud of your work in the classroom,” said Dr. Mark Hammond.
