BUIES CREEK — The Study Abroad Photo Contest received 246 ballots at the annual Study Abroad Fair held Monday, Sept. 14. Forty-four photos were entered in two categories: “Camels Meet Culture” and “Point of View”. The winning photos, listed below, provide snapshots of life abroad.
Overall Winner: “Hangin’ on the Cliffs” by Allison Deaton
Allison Deaton, an elementary education major with special education extension, earned literature credit this summer while exploring England and Scotland with Campbell’s faculty-led program, “British Literature in Great Britain.”
Runner up: “Las Palomas” by Hannah Lamb
Hannah Lamb, a communication studies major, earned Spanish credits this summer and lived with a host family in Seville on Campbell’s faculty-led program, “Spanish in Spain.”
Runner up: “Lago de Atitlan” by Willie Mark Jones
Willie Mark Jones, a biology pre-professional major, earned biology credit and volunteered this summer with Campbell’s faculty-led program, “Medical Service Learning in Guatemala.”
Honorable Mention: “Cindy” by Amber Puffenbarger
