RALEIGH – Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard announced today that McGuireWoods LLP has provided financial support for the law school’s mock trial team at the Summit Cup. The firm’s gift will provide for the traveling, lodging, and additional expenses for a team of four third-year law students to take part in the event.
“Campbell Law is thankful for the financial support and enthusiasm that McGuireWoods provides to our advocacy program,” said Leonard. “Terry Bagley and McGuireWoods have done a lot for Campbell Law, and we appreciate their continued presence in our law school community.”
The Summit Cup will be held Sept. 28-30 in Denver, Colo., at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law.
In addition to Campbell Law, selected law schools include: American, Baylor, Drexel, Florida State, Fordham, Kent, Loyola-LA, Northwestern, UC Davis, and UC Hastings.
The Summit Cup is a national invitational competition honoring the top teams from the country’s 12 best advocacy competitions. The Summit Cup uses both attorneys and laypeople to serve as scoring jurors, so that law student advocates get a more broad cross-section of feedback and evaluation.
