BUIES CREEK — Audiences will get a slice of Sweet Potato Pie, the longest running female band in the nation, on Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. in Campbell University’s Scott Concert Hall, which is in the Fine Arts building.
Sweet Potato Pie specializes in bluegrass, country, and gospel and consists of four members: Sonya Stead, Crystal Richardson, Carrie Webster and Sandy Whitley. They describe their special mixture of music as “sweetgrass.”
They not only give the crowd great music, but they give a good laugh as well with their incorporation of humor into their shows, said Ran Whitley, host for the event and director of Campbell’s Division of the Fine Arts.
The event is free for Cape Fear Friends of the Fine Arts and for Campbell students, faculty/staff and family of faculty/staff. Tickets for all others are available at the door. Adults are $15. High school and middle school students are $5. Children in the fifth grade and under are free with an adult.
