A free preview of an in-demand concert is chief among the many highlights of the Fall 2024 Fine Arts performance calendar at Campbell University.
On Sept. 19, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra (featuring artists from Spot On Entertainment) will present Music of the Knights, a concert celebrating the works of Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney. Featuring iconic songs like “Yesterday,” “Hey Jude,” “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” and “Don’t Cry for Me, Argentina,” Music of the Knights will begin at 7 p.m. at Hobson Performance Center.
Free tickets can be obtained through the Fine Arts office by calling (910) 893-1495 or emailing chodgins@campbell.edu. Two nights later, the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra will perform at Seabrook Auditorium in Fayetteville for a paid audience.
“We are really excited to have this show coming to campus and excited to be able to present it for free to our student body and Campbell community,” said Dr. Dwayne Wilson, chair of the Division of Fine Arts at Campbell. “These are songs everybody knows, regardless of generation, and it’s just going to be a memorable event.”
The popular Front Porch Music @ The FAB concert series will return in the fall, led by a Halloween-themed outdoor concert at 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 titled “Monster Mash Rock Band Bash” featuring the Campbell University Rock Band. All Front Port Music concerts will be held in front of Taylor Bott Rogers Fine Arts Building, and guests are invited to bring their own lawn chairs and picnic spread for the events.
The Theatre Department’s annual Christmas show will be “A Sanders Family Christmas,” a variety music and comedy show with several sing-a-long performances. The production will be held at 7 p.m. on Dec. 2 and 3 in Ellis Theatre.
