Buies Creek, N.C.—Teddy J. Byrd, of Coats, N.C., has been elected to a first term on the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Byrd is the owner of the Teddy J. Byrd Agency, Inc. and has previously served on the University’s Presidential Board.
A Campbell graduate, Byrd received a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Science from Campbell in 1985. He is the former chairman of the Harnett County Board of Commissioners and a past president of the Coats Area Chamber of Commerce. Byrd has also served as president of the Coats Jaycees.To honor his civic commitment, Byrd received the Coats Man of the Year award in 2004.
Byrd and his wife the former Sheila A Matthews are members of Coats Baptist Church where Byrd has served as a deacon. They have three children, Samantha, Alexandra and Zachary.
