BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Business hosted a variety of well attended events for its 10th annual Campbell Business Week, April 4-8, on campus. Held each year since 2006, this year’s theme — Innovate. Integrate. Motivate. — focused on innovation, professionalism and service. More than 200 Campbell Business students participated in various activities and opportunities throughout the week.

The week-long festivities kicked off on Monday, April 4, with breakfast, donuts from Sherry’s Bakery, and free t-shirts with well over 150 students participating. Later that evening students enjoyed a screening of the film “The Intern” with refreshments.

On Tuesday, April 5, business week committee member Chris West hosted an information session in the First Citizens Wealth Management Center. That evening, students participated in an innovation contest. Steven Walther, inventor of the “toof-inger” spoke to students about innovation, creativity, and perseverance.

Wednesday, April 6, saw more than 30 students having their professional headshots taken and learning how to better use and navigate LinkedIn to connect with professionals and market themselves. Sarah Roberson of The Redheaded Camel held a painting class, Handpainted Happiness 101, for a group of first-year students.

On Thursday, April 7, students donated over 200 school supplies to benefit the Triangle South Literacy Works Center, who will in turn expand their reach into the community and provide opportunities for adults to improve their literacy. Students received free t-shirts for their participation. In the evening, 57 students took part in a formal dinner at the City Club in downtown Raleigh where 2010 Campbell Business graduate Mark Williams of Deloitte challenged students to stay motivated and primed for success. Dr. Kevin J. O’Mara, who will officially become dean of Campbell Business effective July 1, was also on hand to deliver his initial remarks to students.
