BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Business Trust & Wealth Management recently hosted its fall summer internship interview window during which time firms from around the country visited and extended paid summer internship offers to more than 30 students.

“Internship opportunities are worth their weight in gold to the students,” said Jimmy Witherspoon, chair of the Department of Financial Planning & Accounting and director of the Trust & Wealth Management Program. “We are fortunate to offer a unique program and to the have the enthusiastic support of major financial institutions who could easily be recruiting on any college campus in the country. They choose to be in Buies Creek thanks to the reputation of the program and, more importantly, thanks to the reputation of the graduates. The banks are well aware that hiring our students straight out of school is easily the equivalent to hiring someone with three to four years of experience in the industry. Trust majors are in huge demand.”

Wells Fargo, BB&T, First Citizens Bank, First Tennessee, National Advisors Trust, People’s United Bank and Bank of Oklahoma each participated in the three week long window, making offers in cities nationwide such as Boston, Philadelphia, Miami, Austin, Minneapolis, Nashville, Long Beach and Kansas City in addition to Raleigh, Charlotte and Winston-Salem. More than 20 students were interviewed each day, followed by evening receptions with the recruiters and senior management. Students were well prepared for the interviews and had the opportunity put into practice their business networking skills resulting in another successful Trust recruiting season.
