Buies Creek, N.C.-Raleigh attorney Benjamin N. Thompson has been named chairman of the Executive Committee of the Campbell University Board of Trustees. A resident of Dunn, Thompson is a partner with the law firm of Wyrick, Robbins, Yates & Ponton, supervising the firm’s litigation section.
Thompson’s practice focuses on complex litigation, government contracting law, labor law and antitrust and trade regulation. He has extensive jury and non-jury trial experience in both state and federal courts throughout the country as well as on the various administrative boards of Contract Appeals, the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, the U.S. Government Accountability Office and the National Labor Relations Board.
Thompson graduated cum laude from Campbell University in 1976 and was a member of the Charter Class of Campbell’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law, earning his J.D. in 1979.
He has been listed among “The Best Lawyers in America: Commercial Litigation, “North Carolina Super Lawyers for Government/Cities/Municipalities and Business North Carolina Magazine’s “Legal Elite: Litigation.” Thompson is a member of the American Bar Association, Public Contracts Section; the American Association for Justice; the North Carolina Bar Association and the Panel of Arbitrators and the American Arbitrators Association, among other organizations.

This is Thompson’s second term as a Campbell trustee.
