Passion is the word that comes to mind when you think of Tiffany Vu, 2018 PharmD Candidate. She has a strong passion for service to others that led her to choose a career in pharmacy. Her passion is also one reason she was chosen as a recipient of the national RESPy Award, presented by Pharmacy Times and Wal-Mart.

Dan Bucciarelli, PRh, Wal-Mart Regional Talent Specialist, came to campus to present Vu with the award during the Introduction to Pharmacy Practice VI course. Katie Trotta, PharmD, CPHS Clinical Assistant Professor of Community Pharmacy Practice and a person of inspiration to Vu, was also on hand at the award presentation.

As a RESPy Award winner, Vu received a $1,000 scholarship, a full-page article about her service and commitment to the pharmacy profession in Pharmacy Times, a unique mortar and pestle, and an invitation to the Wal-Mart pharmacy intern program.

“I chose to apply to pharmacy school due to the vast opportunities available in the pharmacy field. From the traditional community roles to specialized hospital roles, I loved that there wasn’t a set path and that the possibilities were endless,” Vu said. “God opened over a dozen opportunities for me to attend pharmacy school and ultimately live out my calling to serve the underserved.”

We are so proud of you Tiffany!
