Trio of Campbell Law Alumni Honored as Leaders in the Law

RALEIGH, N.C. – Three Campbell Law School alumni have been honored as 2012 Leaders in the Law by North Carolina Lawyers Weekly. Donald W. Marcari (L ’85), Charles W. McKeller (L ’95), and Anthony J. Biller (L’ 97) were each formally recognized during a reception at the Raleigh Marriott City Center on Thursday, Sept. 19.

Leaders in the Law honorees represent the most influential individuals within North Carolina’s legal community that go above and beyond in their profession and community. Honorees are nominated by their colleagues, clients and other legal professionals and selected by a committee drawn from North Carolina Lawyers Weekly’s editorial department.

Marcari stands as majority shareholder, senior litigator, and managing partnerat Marcari, Russotto, Spencer & Balaban, P.C., concentrating on plaintiff personal injury law and civil litigation. Marcari also handles veteran benefits claims, defends select military members in court martials and administrative proceedings, and directs mock trial teams for two high schools in Virginia Beach, Va.

Asole practitioner, McKeller concentrates on criminal and domestic work. In addition to serving on the Brevard City Council for a number of years, he is currently coaching Special Olympics and middle school soccer with the Brevard schools. McKeller is also very active with his church in numerous capacities.

Biller is a member at Coats & Bennett, PLLC, specializing in intellectual property. Biller also advises clients on licensing, content, brand management, and other IPR contracts, and trade secret issues. He has also taught classes in intellectual property as an adjunct faculty member at Campbell Law. Outside of law, Biller has served as a tribe chief in the YMCA Guide/Indian Princess Program, Cub Scout Den Leader, and soccer team coach.
