RALEIGH, N.C. – Three Campbell Law students have been tapped to receive $1,000 scholarships from the Association of Corporate Counsel’s (ACC) Research Triangle Area Chapter (RTAC). Third-year student Frank Milner and second-year students Benjamin Buskirk and Sarah Murray will each collect the honor for the 2012-13 academic year. For the second consecutive year, Campbell Law students have received three of the five available ACC-RTAC scholarships.
“I am pleased with our three scholarship winners as they took the initiative to apply for a local scholarship,” said Campbell Law Career & Professional Development Center Director Julie Beavers. “Not only have these enterprising students earned scholarship dollars, they now have an acute platform to engage numerous in-house practitioners.
“Campbell Law School is fortunate to have the ACC-RTAC as a community partner, as the organization engages our students, faculty and administration through monthly educational programs along with networking events throughout the year.”
ACC-RTAC scholarship recipients must study at an accredited law school operating within central and eastern North Carolina, having completed at least one year of law school. All applications are evaluated and selected on the basis of applicant’s academic records, demonstrated financial need, interest in the in-house practice of law, quality of answers to written application questions, and recommendations.
The ACC-RTAC serves more than 200 members in the central and surrounding areas of North Carolina, including all of the eastern part of the state. The chapter provides a wide range of educational programs on topics relevant to in-house law practice such as crisis management, managing outside counsel, contracts 101, and intellectual property competitive intelligence.
