Campbell is the only university in the U.S. to offer an undergraduate degree in Trust and Wealth Management. Former Campbell President, Norman Adrian Wiggins, once a trust officer and expert in trust law, established the program at the university in 1967.
The twenty freshmen members of the Trust Fellows Program were warmly welcomed into the Trust family, known to the 2,000 alumni and countless supporters in the industry as the “Campbell Trust Mafia”.
These days, 45 to 50 students graduate from Campbell with a Trust degree each year – many of whom also graduate with an MBA thanks to the 4/1 MBA program.
The Trust Fellows were invited to join this robust major upon their acceptance to Campbell University. This fellowship will provide them with opportunities to be mentored and network with industry specialists.
They meet weekly in a boardroom style session, learning from well-seasoned alumni, as far removed as Boston and San Francisco, about the industry and the enormous career opportunities Campbell Trust graduates enjoy.
Each Trust Fellow has their own Trust Alumni Mentor, a relationship likely to extend well into their working careers.
In addition to the annual Trust dinner, the Fellows will travel to Angus Barn for a Trust Fellows dinner.
They are also able to take advantage of scholarship and countless other networking opportunities, such as joining First Citizens Bank and its senior management staff at their Corporate Center in November, leading up to their paid summer internships.
Nearly all Trust majors complete at least one summer internship at a major bank across the country including Wells Fargo, Truist, First Citizens Bank, City National Bank, and Bank of America. The permanent hire placement rate for Campbell’s Trust majors is 95 percent within one month of graduation. Graduates of the program are also eligible, immediately upon graduation, to sit for the prestigious CFP® examination enabling them to become Certified Financial Planners upon meeting the work experience requirement.
