BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Business School’s nationally recognized Trust & Wealth Management Program has maintained registration with the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) Board of Standards Inc.

An independent certifying organization, CFP Board owns the CFP® and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNERTM certification marks, which it awards to individuals who meet its education, examination, experience, ethics and other requirements. Students completing the Trust & Wealth Management Program at Campbell Business will have met the Education requirement for CFP® Certification Examination administered by CFP Board.

“CFP Board is pleased to have an educational institution of the caliber of Campbell University offering a CFP Board Registered Program,” said Richard P. Rojeck, CFP®, chair of CFP Board’s Board of Directors. “As student interest in financial planning as a career continues to grow, we anticipate that Campbell’s program will contribute significantly to the number of qualified candidates seeking to attain the CFP® certification, the standard of excellence for competent and ethical financial planning.”

The Trust and Wealth Management Program was cited by the CFP Board for:
• The uniqueness of the degree;
• Having a well-qualified faculty with most holding multiple professional certifications, excellent academic credentials and significant practitioner experience in the financial industry;
• The fact that over 75% of students participate in at least one ten-week paid internship with recognized financial institutions;
• A permanent hire placement rate of 95% within one month of graduation;
• The 3/2 program, allowing trust majors to graduate from Campbell University with both the BBA and MBA degrees in only five years;
• Strong industry support through the Trust Education Foundation, Inc., through scholarships, curriculum review, and offering the financial services industry continuing education nationally which enhances placement and recruiting efforts; and
• The new state-of-the-art stock First Citizens Bank Wealth Management Center which will be available for use by Trust majors in fall 2015.

“We are delighted to have partnered with our friends at the CFP Board for over 30 years,” said Campbell Business Department of Financial Planning & Account Chairman and Trust & Wealth Management Program Director Jimmy Witherspoon. “The CFP® is the premier certification, the gold standard, in financial planning world-wide. The CFP Board’s review and recent renewal of the status of the Campbell Business Trust & Wealth Management Program is strong evidence of the quality and relevance of the Trust Program. Whether our graduates chose to pursue a career with a major financial institution or someday choose to “hang out their shingle” as a financial planner, they will be well prepared for a career of helping others — stewardship in its highest sense.”

Today, CFP Board partners with over 360 programs at more than 225 institutions. CFP Board-Registered Programs are financial planning education programs at the college or university level that meet specific criteria for educating individuals who wish to fulfill the education component for obtaining CFP® certification.
