RALEIGH, N.C. – The Campbell Law School chapter of Delta Theta Phi Law Fraternity has presented United States Attorney Thomas G. Walker with the Judge Robinson O. Everett Award for Legal Excellence. Walker, a 1990 Campbell Law graduate, received the award at the annual Judge Robinson O. Everett Awards Gala and Professionalism Dinner at the City Club in downtown Raleigh on Nov. 11.

Walker was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve as U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. He was confirmed in 2011 by the United States Senate and took the oath of office from Chief United States District Judge James C. Dever III.
As U.S. Attorney, Walker oversees all federal criminal and civil matters in the 44 eastern counties of North Carolina. His staff includes more than 100 Assistant U.S. Attorneys and support personnel.
Mr. Walker previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina, an Assistant District Attorney for Mecklenburg County and as Special Counsel to North Carolina Attorney General Roy A. Cooper. At the time of his confirmation, Walker was a partner with Alston & Bird, LLP, where he was a member of the firm’s Government Investigations and Litigation Practice Groups.
Walker received his B.A. from Baylor University prior to Campbell Law, where he served as Editor-in-Chief of the Campbell Law Review. He is originally from Waynesville, North Carolina
The R.C. Bryan Senate of Delta Theta Phi was founded at Campbell Law in 1979 and serves as the fraternity’s International Headquarters. Campbell Law’s R.C. Bryan Senate was selected as the nation’s most Outstanding Student Senate for 2009-2010.
