BUIES CREEK – Campbell University will hold an Official Campbell Ring Premiere at 7 p.m. on April 22 in Shouse Dining Hall.
The event is intended to formally introduce the official Campbell University ring to the campus community. Free food will be provided as well as free T-shirts to the first 100 guests. All Campbell students, staff, faculty, alumni and community members are invited to attend.
“The official Campbell Ring is a new tradition for the students of our university that will add to their Campbell experience,” said Dennis Bazemore, vice president of Student Life. “This ring will be a significant purchase for our students, and I think they will wear it with great pride. ”
The ring design includes degree abbreviations, the University seal and depictions of three iconic campus landmarks: Kivett Hall, D. Rich and Butler Chapel’s Dinah Gore Tower. Orange and black stones represent the official colors of the University. The ring is available for purchase by all Campbell students who have completed at least 64 credit hours.
A formal Campbell Ring ceremony will be held over Homecoming weekend on Oct. 26, beginning a new tradition at Campbell.
“The ceremony will be a special event to highlight the ring and the presentation of it to our students,” said Bazemore. “I believe it will add a lot of meaning to the ring.”
