BUIES CREEK — Robert Miller, emeritus professor of urban forestry at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, will deliver the Pi Gamma Mu/Phi Kappa Phi Annual Fall Lecture on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. in the Lundy-Fetterman School of Business’ Lynch Auditorium.
His lecture, titled “The Science of Climate Change,” is open to the public
During 29 years at the UWSP, Miller developed the curriculum and supporting courses for the university’s urban forestry program, the largest of its kind in the nation. He was a forester with the U.S. Forest Service and the Florida Forest Service before joining UWSP, where he retired from in 2002.
Today, Miller resides in Oriental, North Carolina, and is a forestry and arboriculture consultant. He also chairs the Oriental Free Board and the TREE Fund Board’s research committee. He’s an honorary life member of the Institutional Society of Arboriculture.
