RALEIGH, N.C. –Campbell Law School Associate Professor of Law Greg Wallace will serve as a panelist at “Locked & Loaded: The Debate on the Second Amendment and Gun Control.” The event, which will be held at The Big Chill in Charlotte, N.C. on March 7, is presented by Charlotte Law School’s Law Review.
Wallace will participate in “Triggering Second Amendment Issues: The Constitutionality of Gun Control.” The 9 a.m. discussion will include five other panelists, including constitutional law professors from Duke Law School and Charlotte Law School, an attorney for Lawyers for a Safer America and two practicing attorneys.
“Six years ago, the Supreme Court struck down a law effectively banning handguns in the home and held that the Second Amendment protects the individual right to arms for self-defense,” said Wallace. “This panel will address the big question in current gun law litigation-to what extent does the Second Amendment protect the carrying of firearms outside the home? I expect a lively and thoughtful discussion.“
Wallace teaches Constitutional Law courses at Campbell Law, including one on Firearms Law and the Second Amendment. He is also a certified pistol instructor.
