Campbell University 2016 Winter Commencement

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – Campbell Business MBA student Steven Walther has received an invitation to attend the inaugural EO Veterans Business Battle at Rice University in Houston, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 28. Walther is one of just 15 finalists nationally that will compete.

“I am honored to have been invited to take part in the EO Veterans Business Battle,” said Walther. “I look forward to representing Campbell Business on the national stage and showing what I’ve learned in The Creek.”

The competition is geared towards potential entrepreneurs who: have an idea but have not yet launched it, have just begun working on their idea, and/or are seeking capital/venture capitalists. The competition is the first of its kind exclusively open to military veterans.

“We are extremely excited for Steven to participate on this stage,” said Campbell Business Dean Keith Faulkner. “I have no doubt that he will do a fine job of representing Campbell Business and the university as a whole on the national stage.”

Winning entries will receive offers for equity investment from agencies and individuals that Entrepreneurs Organization-Houston has partnered with for this competition. Agencies invited include the Mercury Fund, the Houston Angel Network, Goose Society of Texas and other qualified investors. In similar business competitions, participating investors have brought together financial and like-kind contributions worth more than $1 million. In addition, winning entries will receive mentoring and strategic advisers from the diverse and valuable pool of resources in the Entrepreneurs Organization-Houston and its strategic partners.
