Weather Alert: Hurricane Irma

A message from President J. Bradley Creed:

Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by Hurricane Irma.  While the path of the storm is not yet fixed, our staff and Harnett County Emergency Management officials are carefully monitoring the track of the storm and making appropriate plans for possible impact to our campus and our area.

We could potentially see significant wind and rain, downed trees and loss of power.

To keep you apprised of the latest information related to the storm, we will communicate storm-related changes to the normal schedule/operations of the University through the following channels:

On-campus students may contact Residence Hall Staff on duty for questions about resources.  Students living off campus who are concerned for their safety during a storm may request information about on-campus safe locations by calling Campus Safety at 910-893-1375.

In the event of a power outage, Marshbanks Dining Hall will operate on extended hours.  It is equipped with a generator for food service. Power outages may affect campus wifi/wired internet and/or cable TV. We anticipate holding classes on Monday, as scheduled, unless the storm trajectory changes. Please see the University’s Weather Policy for additional questions about internships and clinical activities possibly impacted by the storm.
