Williams elected chair of the Mathematics Department

Dr. Meredith Williams has been named chair of the Department of Mathematics and Information Technology and Security at Campbell, effective fall 2008. She has served as an assistant professor of mathematics since coming to Campbell in 2005.Williams holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Furman University, a Master of Science in Mathematical Sciences from Clemson University and a Ph.D. in Statistics from the University of South Carolina.Prior to coming to Campbell, Williams taught at Winthrop University in Rock Hill, S.C. and Georgia Southern University in Statesboro, Ga.Her professional memberships include the American Statistical Association, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the Mathematical Association of America.Williams was named 2003 Outstanding Graduate Researcher and received the 2003 Excellence as a Graduate Research Assistant Award from the University of South Carolina. She has published articles in the “Journal of Statistical Theory and Applications,” the “Journal of Statistical Computation and Simulation,” and “Lifetime Data Analysis.”
