Buies Creek, N.C. – Dr. Meredith T. Williams, assistant professor of mathematics, received the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching award from Campbell University’s College of Arts and Sciences in April.
Williams, of Lillington, N.C., earned an undergraduate degree from Furman University, a Master of Science in mathematical sciences from Clemson University and a Ph.D. in statistics from the University of South Carolina. Williams joined the Campbell faculty in 2005.
“No matter how you count the pieces, it all adds up—Meredith is a hugely popular and effective teacher of mathematics,” said Dr. Mark Hammond, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. “Whether it’s a sizable statistics class, or a one-on-one independent study in calculus, she connects with her pupils in a manner that results in student success.”
Williams and husband Jerry have two sons.
