Women in Law to participate in Ovarian Cancer Walk & 5K Run

RALEIGH – Campbell Law School’s Women in Law student organization will be participating in the annual Gail Perkins Ovarian Cancer Walk & 5K Run this Saturday, Sept. 16. The event will take place at Sanderson High School in Raleigh. Several members of the organization will be walking to raise money to support ovarian cancer research at Duke University Medical Center.

“I applaud our Women in Law student organization for getting involved in this important and noteworthy cause,” said Campbell Law Dean J. Rich Leonard.

While the Duke Ovarian Cancer Research Program is partially funded by the National Cancer Institute and other agencies, funds raised at the annual ovarian awareness walk will fund much-needed researchers and laboratory equipment. The goal is to reduce ovarian cancer deaths through research that leads to improvements in early detection, treatment, and prevention.

Campbell Law’s Women in Law created a team to help support women in their community. The group has set a $600.00 goal and is accepting tax deductible donations for this cause.
