Woodard elected to Campbell’s Board of Trustees

Buies Creek, N.C.—Billy T. Woodard, of Fuquay-Varina, N.C., has been elected to the Campbell University Board of Trustees. Woodard is chairman and CEO of Fidelity Bancshares, Inc., a banking franchise with over 60 locations in central North Carolina.

A banker for over 45 years, Woodard worked for the Bank of Biscoe in Moore County when it merged with the Bank of Fuquay in 1970. When the Bank of Fuquay became Fidelity Bank, Woodard became the bank’s executive vice president and served as president of the bank from 1977 to 1997.

A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Woodard earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing in 1957 and completed a three-year program at the School of Banking of the South at Louisiana State University in 1965. He has served as treasurer of the North Carolina Community Foundation and is a charter member of the foundation’s board of directors. Woodard also served as mayor of the City of Biscoe.

He and his wife, the former Mary Sue Farlowe of Robbins, N.C., are members of the Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church where Woodard served as a deacon. They have four children.
